May 8, 2011 – My First Mother’s Day

One week ago today I gave birth to two angels after a very long and painful hospital stay. They came into this world 8 weeks early and began their own life struggles in the NICU. I am still groggy and my memory is spotty as I fight to recover from the emergency surgery. However, I cannot underestimate how much fight I have in me for these babies. I don’t know how I got here, or why it all happened so fast. But I can say without doubt, even though my babies are in the hospital, I feel like a mother and am anxious to see where life takes my humble family in the coming weeks, months and years. So grateful. I don’t even have words.

so, i’m beginning to wonder if every hospital has the same baby blankets & hats. because dude – hannah had those SAME blankets when she was born.
