Passing the time with cold confections.

Today I am 11 days postpartum. Last night’s NICU visit was a really good one. Paige was a little stronger with her bottle feed, but still had to take half through the NG tube. Miss Audrey was a little eating champ. It’s incredible how much more I love them every day.

Being at home alone without these girls is very hard. I am recovering from major abdominal surgery but can’t help but try my best to clean things and keep myself busy like a crazy person. It takes about 5 minutes to get up and down stairs with a half full laundry basket, but I do it several times daily because I HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO DO. I wander in and out of our perfectly stocked nursery. I open the drawers and pick through my neatly folded baby clothes. Over. And over.

And I eat ice cream every day at 2:00 p.m.

Oh, and, for my fellow mama readers who don’t mind such information…how about being awesome at pumping for preemies? I didn’t even want babies 8 months ago. Apparently, my body is *really* good at making and sustaining them. That is…until I run out of room for twins and have to evict them at 32 weeks. But hey, we can’t all be perfect at *everything*.

I’ve lost 25 pounds in 11 days. Pretty cool. I know it won’t last much longer, but what a nice head start. Am I repeating myself? What did I write about yesterday? I’m losing my mind. But all for a cause.

The noises and smells and busyness will fill your home soon! And you’ll be exhausted but grateful for it :) Nice work pumping for two little bits, mama!

go you! it must be so hard to be apart from your little biscuits. i’m STILL a wimp about leaving harper for even more than a few hours and she’s a big ol’ toddler. but soon soon they’ll be home with you and this chapter will be far behind you!

and bravo for pumping! that b’milk is so good for them and what a good mama you are — i know how hard pumping can be. <3
